Overview
The Orville Les Paul Custom is a true hidden gem from Japan’s golden age of guitar building. Produced from the late 1980s through the mid-1990s under Gibson’s supervision, Orville guitars were officially licensed Japanese-built Les Pauls that rival — and often surpass — their American counterparts in craftsmanship and tone.
Built with mahogany body and neck, a maple cap, and dual Orville or Gibson humbuckers (depending on model), this Les Paul Custom captures the thick, creamy midrange, singing sustain, and punchy lows that define the iconic LP sound. The multi-ply binding, gold hardware, and split-diamond headstock inlay complete the unmistakable Custom look.
